What Is All This?

The universe, existence, reality — exploring ultimate truth across wisdom traditions

ब्रह्म सत्यम्
Brahma Satyam — Brahman Alone Is Real

Beyond matter, beyond mind, beyond time — there is one infinite, eternal reality. All that exists is a wave in the ocean of Brahman, the Tao, the Divine Ground of Being.

How 8 Traditions Describe Ultimate Reality

VEDIC TRADITION
ब्रह्म (Brahman)

The absolute, infinite reality — not a being, but pure existence-consciousness-bliss (Sat-Chit-Ananda). Everything you see is Brahman temporarily appearing as forms. The ocean manifesting as waves.

TAOIST TRADITION
道 (Tao)

The Way — the source and pattern of all existence. That which cannot be named, yet gives rise to heaven and earth. The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao.

ISLAMIC TRADITION
الله (Allah)

The One, Eternal, Absolute — Al-Haqq (The Truth), Al-Nur (The Light). "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden" (Quran 57:3). All existence emanates from divine unity.

BUDDHIST TRADITION
Dharmakaya / Śūnyatā

The truth body of reality — emptiness (Śūnyatā) not as nothingness, but as the infinite potential from which all phenomena arise. Ultimate reality beyond concepts and forms.

JEWISH TRADITION
אין סוף (Ein Sof)

The Infinite — God beyond all attributes and comprehension. The endless light from which all creation emanates through the Sefirot, yet remaining forever beyond human understanding.

CHRISTIAN TRADITION
The Godhead

"In Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28). The infinite God beyond Father, Son, Spirit — the ground of all existence. As Meister Eckhart taught: God beyond God.

SIKH TRADITION
ਇੱਕ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ (Ik Onkar)

One Universal Creator — the eternal, formless reality. "There is but One God. Truth is His Name, Creative His Personality" (Mool Mantar). All is manifestation of the One.

CONFUCIAN TRADITION
天 (Tian) / 理 (Li)

Heaven (Tian) and the Principle (Li) — the moral and metaphysical order of the universe. Reality operates through inherent patterns and relationships that govern all existence.
